This was a great widget. Even though the iPhone has Bluetooth, iPhone's Bluetooth actually sucks and only works with their headsets so this widget is not iPhone compatible. It did, though, work with my Motorola Razr, and I'm sure with any other cell phone that has Bluetooth (unless it's as crappy as the iPhone's Bluetooth). We can add lack of real Bluetooth support to iPhone's cons (alongside the lack of MMS support [picture/video text messaging], video recording... blah blah.. I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of right now).
Let's say you're in class, at work, wherever, and you get a text message. So you don't want to pull out your phone and start typing with your keypad. Let's face it, a full keyboard is much better. This widget allows you to type your message on your computer and send it through your phone via Bluetooth. Both your Mac and your phone must have Bluetooth enabled in order for this to work, and your phone needs to be paired with your computer initially.
The Mac only widget is called emitSMS. It doesn't work with BlackBerry.
Keep in mind all this does is enable a better keyboard. Standard text messaging charges still apply.
